crafty mccrafterson - yarn wreath how to!

Thanks for all your comments/emails about my wreath! It is pretty simple - if I can do it, you totally can!
You need:
*1 wire wreath (at Michael's - I got an 8 incher. TWSS)
*styrofoam balls - I used two sizes, whatever fits your wreath, plus a smaller size to fill in gaps
*T-pins (in the sewing aisle)
*glue gun with glue sticks
*yarn (I used green, red and gray. I used maybe 1/4 of each bundle.)
*ornaments
*ribbon
1. Wrap the balls with yarn. This is the most time consuming thing - put the TV on and get to it. I just wrapped and wrapped until I couldn't see any white. I made some smooth looking and then others I just wrapped the yarn where ever, so it had some contrast. Then I simply pinned the end of the yarn to the ball. (you could also use your glue gun to glue the end to the ball - but it's nice just pinning it in case you want to move it when you're assembling everything.)
2. Arrange the balls on the wreath.

3. One by one, glue the balls to the metal. I was surprised at how quickly it stuck...so make sure you like your arrangement, mmkay?

4. Admire your work.

5. Then, I took the smaller yarn balls and glued those on, to fill in the gaps. I also added ornaments. Finally, I wrapped the wreath with some sparkly ribbon.

6. Choose where you want your 'top' to be, and tie on ribbon. I also glued it to the metal frame, to make sure it held. (on my wreath, you can see some of the metal. I'm planning on getting more ornaments to fill that in.)
There you go! I can't wait to see yours!

Is it wrong that when you said "admire your work" the first time I read was "admire your balls" which made me giggle and made perfect sense to me at that the same time? Then I realized "admire your balls" was all in my own head :)

Anyway, I really like your balls and I did admire yours. I may just have to try making some of my own.

I love step 4. I need to get a wire wreath frame, I have tons of branches from our christmas tree that I want to try and turn into a wreath.

I LOVE it! I've had my eye on a particular wreath at target but it's apparently all sold out so I guess now I'll just make my own! You're such a crafty inspiration!
