Locked

the nail polish connection

Some people you just meet and have an immediate connection to. And that is that, you are friends.

When I started working at the Lonely Hearts Club, the very first person I met was a guy named Matt. I think we both just knew. At least, I knew when I sat next to him and the very first words out of his mouth were

"What color exactly is your nail polish anyways?"

Be still my heart. My nails are always painted. I love nail polish and I love unnatural, weird shades and I love people who notice that.

Matt and I are basically work bffs and I heart him so.

So it was no surprise when I was working away the other day, making love happen, and I hear

"Girl, what is on your nails! They look fabulous!"

Aww, Matty. You noticed.

{I used Sally Hansen Salon Effects thingies and I am in love. They haven't chipped or anything and let me tell you, I am not the gentlest lamb in the field when it comes to how I use my hands. Ha. Where do I come up with this? I do not know.}

{ps. the color I was wearing on that fateful day? Zoya Kelly. it's purple. it's gray. it's blue.}

{makin' strangers into friends since 2011}

So basically this is my favorite topic ever. I love Sally Hansen's salon effects too--so much. Even though they make my nails thin and peely when I take them off. Speaking of which, I'm sporting some DIY fake nails with french tips right now . . . straight from the drug store! They're basically press on nails with glue, and they are just as good as store acrylic nails, but they only cost $6.99. As for Zoya. I love that it's natural, etc. . . and I love the colors. However, I find that Zoya nail polish straight up PEELS OFF MY NAILS as if it's a dang window decal or something. Weird, right???

That said, love that dusty purple. No wonder it made you a friend.

Anytime you wanna talk nails, I'm your girl!

Awe, work bbfs make the long crazy days so much better don't they?!

I also love sally hansens nail effects! While I love nail polish and nice nails, I suck, I mean really suck at painting my nails! Elementary school style nails. :( Yeah, it's bad, but Sally's nail effects have saved me! :))
