post game wrap up

This quote really says it all.

I'm doing pretty okay. I really am. I'm definitely had moments of sadness {the hardest has been not knowing what he is doing. it kills me.} But I am okay. We didn't break up in any explosive way, over something awful. We are just not meant to be together.

I still adore him. He's one of my best friends and he still makes me laugh more then anyone. I love him and I know he loves me. There wasn't anything like cheating or abuse or anything awful like that. It was just 2 people that weren't meant to be. And I knew that for months and he did too. But then we would have so much fun together and the thought of ending that was terrible. We talked about breaking up often. How strange is that, right? But we did. And we never did it. Until I finally was ready to rip the bandaid off. And so I did.

So yeah. I'll be spending this week working a lot and getting back into the kitchen {has anyone noticed that my blog has been sadly lacking recipe posts?}. I will be with amazing friends. I will smile when B texts me that he saw my favorite rare beer for sale. I will try to move on.

Oh, Gabby. Sounds like you're handling this as gracefully as possible, but it still hurts my heart to read about it. Funny how breakups become more "mature" as we get older, and yet still . . . they are sad. Endings are sad. I hope that, somehow, you get your happiness back (friends, cooking, all kinds of distractions) and that it becomes easier.

good luck with the transition...it's always hard going from a "we" to a "me"...but it sounds like you have a handle on things (you always do)

I am so sorry. No matter how mutual or lacking in drama, it still hurts :( Let yourself have your sad moments, but keep pressing forward... and I look forward to your recipes reappearing :)
