{these people are my heart and soul}
My birthday weekend was really amazing. For some reason, my 31st was more celebrated then my 30th. Don't know why, but it was. I got to see so many people that I absolutely adore. I was really touched, seriously. I had plans throughout Thursday night until Sunday night {hence the reason why it's just now Wednesday and mama is returning to the blog. i was tired, you guys}.
If we're friends on Instagram and Twitter, you have probably seen and heard about it already. Sorry!
Thursday night: midnight cocktails with BFF and B. My birthday is like New Years Eve, what?
Friday: lunch with my mom. And then a karaoke birthday party that my coworkers planned. I work with the best people in the world, there is no doubt about that.
Saturday: um not gonna lie, I was so sick. My friends had feed me lots of Jameson the night before. I stayed in bed until about 4pm. Then B took me to a play and dinner.
Saturday night: another amazing coworker had planned a trip up to Long Beach to see Midnight Insanity, which is the midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. People dress up, act it out, throw things, etc. It was a sight, let me tell you. But again, I was so tired and dead from Friday night. I was kind of a zombie.
Sunday: birthday brunch at Chapter One. You guys, if you are ever in Orange County, you NEED to have brunch at Chapter One. The food is inventive and really good. There is bottomless mimosas for $5 bucks, which include a flight of fresh juices {i'm partial to guava}. And there is Rabbi Blue, who combines Yiddish and Jazz for the most fun ever. Cannot even explain it. People camp out there all Sunday, which turns it from brunch into...Sunday Funday. Yeah, I got home at 1am {3 bars and some karaoke later}.
Best birthday weekend ever? I think so.
A huge thank you to my friends! And a huge thank you to B, who was basically my driver all weekend.
Love.
