book report

I read a lot. I read a lot at work, actually, and some of my coworkers and I have started an unofficial book club. We basically pass around books and then talk about them in between phone calls and over Fiber One bars {true story. fiber one bars are so delicious.} So when my friend Reba brought in The Magicians and declared it was her absolute favorite book...I was intrigued. 

I really loved this book. It's like a grown up Harry Potter - or The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. But that makes it seem like it's a fantasy book, and it is more then that. The characters are real and flawed, dealing with situations that we all deal with. But yes, with fantasy thrown in. It made me laugh and it made me cry. For reals.

And then I read The Magician King and it was heart breaking. As I was nearing the end of the book, I slowed down, because I didn't want it to end. 

I'm doing a horrible job writing about these books. Just know, Gabby highly recommends them.
