I woke up early and decided to make breakfast for B and his roommate. Call me old-fashioned, but I just love cooking for my man. It's true. I bought really good applewood smoked bacon and made them a manly breakfast of eggs, bacon, cinnamon rolls {not baked by me. let's not get crazy} and sliced strawberries. {i am still eating healthy - I've lost 23 pounds!- so I had one egg on a bagel thin and strawberries}. They were super appreciative.
{pics or it didn't happen}
And then I baked. Well...healthy baked.
These are chickpea chocolate chip cookie dough balls. Yes. Chickpea. They're vegan, gluten free, and low calorie. They're...interesting. But overall, two thumbs up for a healthy sweet treat and time in the kitchen {pretty much my favorite weekend activity}.
After baking, I headed to Huntington Beach to meet some coworkers {friends} for a bonfire. This is the second time this summer that we have done this and it's just really fun.
{i thank my lucky stars that i live where i live}
With my hair smelling like bonfire and sand on my feet, I then headed down Pacific Coast Highway to meet B. B has been working all summer {it feels like for.ev.er} doing lighting for a play in Laguna Beach. I'm happy for him - he makes a living doing what he absolutely loves - but he has shows 6 nights a week all summer long. Rawr. Anyways, we had a few cocktails and smooches and let's just say I love him lots and lots. No pics, because sometimes the iPhone just needs to have an early night.
Such a good day!

I'm so intrigued by the chickpea cookies, I've never heard of that before...
Glad you had such a lovely weekend. And congrats on the healthy eating--23 lbs is so impressive. Nothing like pool time with best friends!
five thumbs up to you losing 23 pounds and your best friend being 60 days sober! that's awesome! i need to jump on this healthy eating bandwagon myself..
your day does sound awesome. sometimes the simplest days end up being the best days. and what IS it that makes it so satisfying to cook for our men? I love making dinner for my boyfriend, it never seems like a chore or anything.
